We are seeking a full time Claims Manager, Alberta Retail, Gallagher Canada. The successful candidate will be leading the Alberta Region Claims Team in providing exemplary claims service and advocacy, maintaining and exceeding the service standards of the Gallagher Claims Department. Key Job Responsibilities

  • Management of Alberta Region Claims Advocacy Team

  • Provide Claims counselling as required to the insureds in a professional and compassionate manner

  • Advocacy on claims, as necessary, on client’s behalf with insurers

  • Work with the National VP Claims and Legal Counsel to manage Gallagher E&O Claims

  • Attend client meetings with respect to Claims Review and Risk Management

  • Communication with adjusters and insureds with respect to open claims

  • Liaison between insured and insurance carrier during settlement negotiations when required

  • Attend company sponsored seminars and educational activities needed to maintain product knowledge and expertise, and participate in projects at management’s request

  • Maintain, organize and update client files, including Excel spreadsheets

  • Data input using EPIC system

  • Provide up to date Claims summaries and/or specific claim information to Commercial Team as requested

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Claims Adjusting Experience or Commercial Broker including Claims Advocacy Experience required

  • Completion of post-secondary education an asset

  • AIC level 2 licensed, and other provinces as required

  • CAIB, CIP, CRM designations an asset or courses completed towards designations

  • Client service and/or advocacy experience an asset

  • Comprehensive and effective verbal/written communication skills

  • Leadership experience an asset

  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills

  • Strong time management and organization skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to multi-task between a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

  • Experience with EPIC an asset
